Abe’s Apartments is a list that gives you all the basic information needed to narrow down your apartment search. Once you have selected the few, call the places to get current prices and set up appointments to see the actual units. Most are available from 10-6. Having a flexible move-in date will give you more results. When you go to the apartment, ask if there are specials if you look and sign a lease the same day. Some apartments give discounts to employees of large firms. Location is important within the community, so make sure to see a site map and locate where your apartment will be.
For the UT area, it can get tricky- there are so many apartments and how do you know where to start? Here are the numbers of a few property management firms that each have multiple properties. When you call these places, tell them what you are looking for and see if they have a vacancy that works:

Pre-leasing is when you are trying to rent an apartment for a future date. Many students need to rent in the spring for the following fall. Or others may just want the comfort of leasing months in advance. This can be tricky, but near UT many places provide this service. For pre-leasing, here are a few companies.
